Speaker test FAQ
Does this speaker test need microphone permission?
No. The test only generates sound through the Web Audio API. It does not record audio or request access to your microphone.
Why does the left tone play on the right?
Your stereo channels may be swapped. Check that desktop speaker cables are connected to the correct sides, that headphones are worn correctly, and that system balance or accessibility settings are not reversing channels.
What should I check if I hear no sound?
Raise the volume gradually, unmute the device, disconnect forgotten Bluetooth outputs, and confirm your operating system is sending sound to the expected speakers or headphones.
Can a browser prove that my speakers work?
A browser can generate the correct audio signal but cannot confirm that physical sound came out. Your listening confirmation completes the test.
