What gets removed

Image metadata remover FAQ

Does this tool upload my photo?

No. The selected image is decoded and re-exported in browser memory. The file itself is never sent to the devFlokers API.

Which metadata does it remove?

Browser re-export removes common embedded EXIF, GPS location, camera model, timestamps, comments, and similar metadata. It is a practical privacy cleaner, not a forensic guarantee for every proprietary marker.

Will cleaning change image quality?

PNG is exported losslessly where supported. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded at a high quality setting, so their file size and pixel encoding can change slightly.

Which image formats are supported?

The tool supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 20 MB and 25 megapixels.

Why should I remove GPS metadata?

Some phones and cameras can store the coordinates where a photo was taken. Removing that hidden data before sharing reduces the chance of exposing a private location.
